Essentials of Modern Slavery Awareness Training

Header image

Many of us believe that slavery was abolished in the nineteenth century and is no longer a significant human rights issue. However, slavery is still very prevalent around the world, and even occurs in Australia. As individuals, we have a moral obligation to avoid supporting operations that involve modern slavery, and many businesses also have a legal obligation to do so by complying with the Modern Slavery Act of 2018.

This course introduces the concept of modern slavery and explains the various forms it can take. It also explains the need to be aware of how slavery can exist in supply chains that are directly or indirectly associated with products and services that we rely on. This course raises awareness of these issues, and explains the legal obligations set out in the Modern Slavery Act that apply to many Australian businesses.
